November 8, 2020, God allowed Derrick and I to cross paths completely unexpectedly in Jackson, Mississippi. On this particular Sunday, I was greeted by a beautiful man with the words, "hi cutie". I replied, "hi cutie". During our initial meet, I discovered he worked in Computer Networking. I was intrigued because at the time I was teaching Computer Science. We exchanged numbers and two days later he called!


We discovered soooo many similarities between us, including family values, morals, beliefs, education, work ethic and sense of humor. Derrick's job then transferred him to Atlanta, Georgia. We were long distance for a year. That was such a blessing as we had the opportunity to nuture our love and bask in the blessing of the Lord's gift to us. With my Mother's blessings, I eventually relocated to Atlanta and on September 6, 2022, Derrick Ellis proposed to me!!! To God be the glory for the things He has done!
